How Can An MP Who Is Aspiring To Be A President Has This Notion About Farming; Can Kennedy Agyapong Be A Good President?

Not only do Farmers keep everyone fed and watered, but they also play a vital role in the economy and provide essential employment for people in rural communities. Farming and the agricultural industry as a whole are actually one of the main sources of employment in a lot of places. Other importance of farming include; the provision of raw materials, protection of the environment, preservation of species, foreign exchange, boost export, and means of subsistence.

However, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has a different view about people who venture into farming. Speaking on TV about businesses he has established, the journalist asked him whether he has some farms. And Surprisingly Kennedy Agyapong said that it is only people who pray to be poor venture into farming. According to him, farming doesn' t bring money.

He used to have two sites in Tema where he was doing farming but he stopped due to the fact that it was not giving him money. This is what he said on TV, " Farms don' t bring money. There are better ways of getting money like establishing a media company. I don' t know how people are going to take this but it is only people who wake up in the morning to pray that they want to be poor people venture into farming. I am sorry but that is the truth" .

Many Ghanaians after coming across this video said that Kennedy Agyapong can not be the alternative to Ghana' s economic problems. How can someone who is vying to become President has this perception about farmers and farming? His statement is complete and he must apologise to farmers in Ghana if he really wants to become Ghana' s president comes December 7 2024.

Farming is the backbone of every country. When you go to the United States of America, most rich people in the country are farmers. As an aspiring Presidential Candidate, he should have rather come out with measures he will take to make farmers in Ghana rich just like we have in the USA. As a result of this, some Ghanaians said that if John Mahama is not an alternative to Ghana' s problems, then Kennedy Agyapong is also not an alternative.
